RiteCare

The Valley of Joplin Scottish Rite Care began their philanthropic activities in 1987.  RiteCare’s mission is to ensure that children needing speech, language and hearing assistance have access to it regardless of their ability to pay.

Our Hearing and Speech Mission

Our funding is raised entirely through the generous donations of our members and their activities throughout the State of Missouri or from charitable donations by warm hearted individuals like you!  Perhaps you've reached this page because you know of some child or family in need of our help.  Or you may be a physician, nurse, therapist, teacher, or health care worker having knowledge of the special needs of hearing impaired children in Southwest Missouri.  Regardless, the Scottish Rite Valley of Joplin desires to introduce you to our charitable services so that our joy is shared by fitting that child with hearing aids or assisting with the cost of their speech or language therapy.

Importance of Early Evaluation & Treatment

Children who may be afflicted with a communication disorder are at risk of falling behind their peers, the longer treatment is delayed.  Early evaluation and treatment strategies thus aim at mitigating any developmental gap.  RiteCare's mission is to take affordability out of the equation for families that cannot afford language or speech therapy.

Who is Eligible for RiteCare?

The RiteCare program in Southwest Missouri is open to any child, under the age of eighteen, who needs financial assistance to receive the care needed for them to communicate effectively with the world around them. Examples of financial assistance covered by Rite Care:

  • cost of speech or language therapy.

  • cost of hearing aides.

  • cost of assistive devices used at school to help improve a child’s ability to learn.

What is the Process for RiteCare?

The process for applying for RiteCare assistance:

  1. The first step is a complete evaluation of the child's condition by professionals.

  2. A determination of how much, if any, the family's insurance may cover.

  3. Fill out a Valley of Joplin RiteCare Assistance Application.

  4. Submit the completed application and supporting documentation to RiteCare.

  5. The RiteCare Board of Directors will review the application and provide a decision as soon as possible.

How Can I Help RiteCare?

There are many ways you can help RiteCare achieve its mission.  Here are a few for consideration:

  1. Spread the word.  Not very many people know that there is a program like RiteCare.  Talk to your education providers; talk to your health care providers; talk to parents who may need assistance.  Tell them about RiteCare.  Freely share the website link to this page.

  2. Donate.  One hundred percent of your generous donation will be used towards providing assistance for children with language or speech pathologies as described by this website.  Give to RiteCare.

  3. Join Us.  If you are a master mason, then join the Scottish Rite.  If you want to become a master mason, then talk to a mason or visit the website of a Grand Lodge in your state and learn more
